A BIO EditedLeather_t_w600_h600 true populist at heart, Eryn Oft believes in creating global music communities that foster conversation about sound  diversity, a recognition of varying tone colors and timbres.  Her 2017 album Eryn Oft: Out of the Box  and the follow up singles Shadow Tracks exemplify her love of diverse peoples and the music they create. 

Since 2007, Eryn has served as faculty at Jacksonville State University. In 2023, Eryn was honored with promotion of rank to Distinguished Instructor of Music. At JSU Eryn teaches courses in Music History, Ethnomusicology and maintains an exciting double reed studio. 

To support arts advocacy, Eryn began pursuing her Masters in Business administration at Jacksonville State University (Graduation AUG 2025). She has shared her music entrepreneurship knowledge through guest lectures at University of Alabama, Rutgers University, University of Iowa, Columbus State University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and University of Wisconsin- Madison. 

As a performer, Eryn developed an international reputation performing with orchestras and chamber music groups throughout Europe, Mexico, the US and Canada. She has been the recipient of travel grants and artistic residencies, most notably with the Banff Centre for the Arts. Currently, Eryn has been heard performing with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Ballet, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Her primary teachers include Stephane Levesque, Kim Walker and Mark Eubanks.

As an educator and clinician Eryn utilizes innovative methods to express artistic concepts, making art accessible and sparking curiosity. Following her work with Harvard Brain Scientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, Eryn revolutionized music history pedagogy, moving away from standard memorization into ideas that unite the right and the left brain, increasing retention and substantially raising students’ national test scores. In all of her endeavors she strives to communicate and connect with audiences of all cultures and demographics.

Prior to her work at JSU she served as Assistant Professor at Snow College in Utah. Eryn is a graduate of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (BM and MM with a concentration in early music). Her bassoon teachers have included Kim Walker, Mark Eubanks and Stephane Levesque.
